Each autumn around the world individuals begin a journey of faith in a process that is known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). It is a process whereby individuals who are not of the Catholic faith, but who are interested in learning about the Catholic faith come together weekly to listen to someone sharing the faith and to reflect upon their relationship with the Lord. It is also for baptized Catholics who have not yet received the other sacraments of initiation; viz., Confirmation and First Eucharist. It is helpful for a Catholic spouse or Catholic friend to attend the classes with the one inquiring about the faith.

When one attends these classes, there is no real commitment at that time. It is a time for an individual to respond to the call of the Lord in their lives.

The classes are held each Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to approximately 8:15 p.m. The process begins in September and culminates with the Easter Vigil when those who have never been baptized receive this sacrament and those who were baptized in another Christian denomination make a profession of faith. In addition, they will receive Confirmation and First Eucharist.

Please contact the Parish Office if you, or anyone that you know, is interested in learning more about the Catholic faith.
