SCHOOL DELAY, CLOSING AND DISMISSAL POLICY

Holy Name of Jesus School closings and early dismissals related to inclement weather are determined by the Central Dauphin School District....if Central Dauphin Schools are closed or dismissing early, HNJ is also closed or dismissing early.

In the event of an early dismissal

Keep in mind that Central Dauphin buses pick up private school students after the public high
school students, so HNJ students are not necessarily picked up precisely at the noted early
dismissal time.

HNJ students come from several different school districts;  early dismissal times may vary
from district to district.  If your child is a bus rider, please take note of the early dismissal
time that your district is announcing to determine the time of your child's bus pick-up at HNJ

If your child is an After-School Program attendee and an early dismissal is announced, please
please contact the HNJ School Office at 717-657-1704 to inform us as to how your child will be
getting home that day.  These students are often concerned about whether they should ride the bus or wait to be picked up a parent or guardian.

Pre-K-4 Afternoon Program:  12:45 - 2:45 pm
Kindergarten:  Follows two-hour delay schedule along with Grades 1-8

For cases when Central Dauphin School District & Holy Name of Jesus School are in session but the school district where you live announces a closing or delay, busing to HNJ will not be available.  Parents are asked to provide transportation for their student(s) to/from school.

For cases when school districts other than Central Dauphin announce an early dismissal, only HNJ students who live in those school districts will be dismissed early.  Please note, busing will be provided in these instances.
