Please note the updates are as follows:

· Note there is a change to the May 2010 schedule due to Night of the Arts. Please note practice times for first week of May are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Download a new calendar for May (posted April 30, 2010 11:30 am)

· May 2010 Calendar posted (see link below). Please note the location and times of the meets and practices are random compared to March and April.

· The next track meet is Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Mechanicsburg 10am (arrive 9:15am).

· Banquet scheduled for Monday, May 24, 2010 in the Social Hall (cafeteria). All athletes, siblings and parents are invited to dinner and awards from 6 pm to 8 pm. SAVE THE DATE.

· Schedule of meets in the 2010 CYO Track Meet Schedule. This is the final schedule of meets. See link below.

· Practice is held at The New Central Dauphin High School Track (see below for directions).

· Practices are from 5:30 PM to 7 PM unless otherwise noted on the calendar.

· Parent helpers and coaches are needed. Background clearance is required. Please email Peter Jones at morgaugeman@comcast.net if you are interested in volunteering.

We encourage participation in the Hershey’s Track and Field Games, a national program. Participation is in on an individual basis. This year the local event is May 3rd in Enola at East Pennsboro High School. Advance registration is required. You can email Sheri Matter with any questions at recreation@eastpennsboro.net

HNJ Track and Field is all about participation and improving on your personal best as well as being part of a TEAM. All HNJ Students and public school students who attend CCD religious education who are in grades 3rd thru 8th are eligible to join this top notch program.

Running events consist of 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m (1 lap), 800m (2 laps), 1600m (mile), 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay, 800m medley relay (2x100m, 200m, 400m)

Field events consist of softball throw, discus, shot put, long jump.

High jump is exhibition for 7th and 8th grade only (new in 2006).

Track Registration Forms will be available in the school office for students to pick up or download here by clicking on the link below in the Forms Section. Forms can be returned to the school office with check payable to Holy Name of Jesus.
Please note I have arranged special pricing for HNJ Track and Field on running shoes (typically a 15% discount) at the Inside Track, (717) 564-2770, 6301 Grayson Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111. This is the shopping plaza across the road from Walmart/Sams Club. Be sure to ask for the team pricing for HNJ Track before they register the sale. Do not go for the price or the huge selection. Go for the service. Remember that shoes that can accept spikes are not permitted.

Directions to Practice

Practices are from 5:30pm to 7:00 pm and are held either Landis Field located on the Central Dauphin Middle School campus at 4600 Locust Lane in Harrisburg or Linglestown Junior High School, 1200 N Mountain Rd, Harrisburg, 17112. See schedule for location of practice.

The NEW Central Dauphin High School

This is the new high school located at the intersection of Rt. 39/Linglestown Road and Piketown Road. From Holy Name turn right out of the parking lot. Right on Mountain Road. Go over Rt 81 and continue to the stop sign at the flag pole in LInglestown. Turn right at the stop sign and continue for 2 miles to the next light. Turn Right and the high school track is at the top of the hill around the back of the school.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL

Follow I-83 South across the South Bridge. Take left hand lane to Rt. 581 connector towards Camp Hill. Exit at Route 15 south (Gettysburg Exit). Take the Lower Allen Drive Exit (the Shiremanstown exit no longer exists). Turn right at the bottom of the ramp. Turn Left at the 2^nd signal next to Wendy’s onto Lower Allen Drive. Next turn left onto Simpson Ferry Road. Go straight and Trinity High School is on the left side of the road just past a Diner. Make a left into entrance and left at split around the school to the parking lot. Track is behind the school.
