SUMMER READING
INFORMATION:
It's time for our summer reading
program. Students in preschool through second grade have received
packets with many ideas, book lists, and reading programs for your
child(ren) to get involved in. Studies show that
students who read over the summer retain a large percentage of
what they learned this year. Local businesses such as Metro Bank,
Border's, Barnes and Noble, Scholastic, and the Dauphin County
Library system are promoting reading programs. Information on
their programs can be found on their websites. Our school offers
the Super Summer 60 program. Students read 60 entries, log them,
and return it signed by a parent when school returns in August.
All participants receive an $8.00 gift certificate to shop at the
fall Book Fair. For our young readers an entry is an easy reader
book, for our chapter book readers, entries are pages by grade,
for example, 3rd grade counts 30 pages, 6th grade
counts 60 pages, as an entry. Students can combine all the
programs offered and reap many benefits while hopefully instilling
a love for reading. Please try to make this summer a reading
summer for your child's benefit. Enjoy your summer and see you in
August.

fundraiser for our school!
ATTENTION
PARENTS/GUARDIANS: In the
case of an early weather dismissal please make sure you review
your Emergency/Weather Dismissal form that you filled out at the
beginning of the school year. Please go over these
instructions with your child(ren) so that they know what to do if
we have an early dismissal. Also, when there is an early
dismissal there is no After School Program. In the case of a delay please
make sure you watch your local television stations and listen to
local radio for Central Dauphin and/or Holy Name. This
website will also have delay information posted at the top of this
announcement page. For more information concerning weather delays

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Student achievements are announced during announcements
(8:10am & 2:55pm). They are also posted in the daily
announcement sheet that we provide for our faculty. If you
have a school/parish/academic (student activity) related
announcement that you would like announced please contact the
school office. Also, we will publish a Recognition News
Journal that will include student achievements at the end of the
school year. This News Journal is not published on the
website.
INFORMATIONAL
FLIERS: Our school receives many fliers for
recreational, school, and community events, sports, programs, etc.
throughout the school year. We cannot distribute these
fliers to everyone but we do announce them to the students as they
are received so that they may pick up items of interest in the
school lobby. Please check with your child often or stop in
to see what we might have in the magazine racks!
