What's New
March 15, 2010
The capital campaign and plans for the new church continue to move forward. The designs presented at the March 3rd town hall meeting are being revised based on parishioner input. New plans under consideration include a much larger cross centered above the main entrance doors. We will continue to communicate changes in the bulletin and through e-mail.
You can review the preliminary site master plan and exterior renderings in the church lobby. There will also be a PowerPoint presentation on display in the lobby this weekend. This same presentation can be viewed here.

Hundreds of parishioner participated in the March 3rd mass and town hall meeting regarding the capital campaign and the planned construction of a new church. The meeting featured presentations by Msgr. Lawrence and the site engineer, Jim Snyder and the architect David Lupold.
In the coming weeks, we will be adding additional information about the planned construction on this website. Keep in mind that construction will occur in phases and may be modified as the full project is budgeted. We will also post answers to frequently asked questions, including the questions captured at the meeting.

We continue to make progress with commitments and collections for the capital campaign. The Holy Name of Jesus parish community has joined together to improve current facilities and build a new church.
While the campaign fundraising continues, the Building Committee has engaged an engineering firm to begin site preparation. The firm starts next week with planning the church placement and orientation on the property. The goal is to begin construction in October of this year.
As expected, the journey to raise money and build a new church at Holy Name has been long. The Lord inspires us to build on our momentum and see it through so construction can begin in 2010, 50 years since the church’s founding.

It’s a new year and it’s time to start imagining a new Holy Name of Jesus Church. We’re not there yet, but we’re getting closer every week. We’ve passed the $4.5 million mark in Faith Promises, moving us closer to the initial campaign goal of $5 million. We’ve also surpassed $3.2 million in the savings account moving us closer to having half the $7.2 million needed to build the new church. This is the amount required by the Diocese to begin construction.
The campaign’s success has resulted from the participation of over 1,530 parish families so far. Thanks to your sacrifice over the past two years, we are beginning to plan the next steps. Currently, the project Building Committee is considering proposals for the site layout on the church property.
As we begin 2010, we need to accelerate our progress. There are plenty of opportunities for you to help, such as:
• Praying for our parish community
• Providing your time and talent to re-energize the campaign
• Making or accelerating your contributions to fulfill your Faith Promise
• Making additional contributions through the capital campaign collection envelopes
• Making new Faith Promise commitments

Building Our Tomorrow...A Legacy of Faith......it has been well over two years since we developed this mission statement to highlight our faith community and parish goal to build a new Church and improve our facilities at Holy Name of Jesus.
From the beginning we have prayed, pledged and contributed. And, we have made progress, including Faith Promises of $4.5 million and more than $2.7 million that has been collected and placed in our savings account. We need to collect $500,000 more to begin construction. Our goal is to do this and break ground by next October as part of the parish’s 50th anniversary celebration.
To do this, we need your help. We need everyone involved in the following ways:
- Continue to pray for our parish community
- Provide your time and talent to re-energize the campaign
- Make your contributions to fulfill your Faith Promise
- Make additional contributions through weekly collection envelopes
- Make new Faith Promise commitments
Imagine the shared sense of accomplishment of breaking ground in the 50th anniversary year of our parish. Now is the time to make it happen. Now is the time for Building Our Tomorrow... A Legacy of Faith.
Weekend of September 22-23, 2007
From time to time the question is asked about memorials and gifts for our Capital Campaign. The simple answer is “not at this time.” We may consider such gifts in the future, but we have far to go to consider such gifts at this time. To tie up needed funds for naming items that are years in the future is not practical or wise. If we did consider memorial gifts, no funds given now would be credited toward a memorial. All additional funds would be sorely needed for our construction and furniture.
We are considering a Book of Remembrance. This book will include everyone’s name who contributed to our current Building Our Tomorrow…A Legacy of Faith Capital Campaign. It is our sincere hope that all Holy Name’s parishioners will be in the book. Now is the time to give or make a Faith Promise, no matter how modest the gift: it is the sacrifice, not the amount, that our Lord asks us to share. Over one thousand parish families have pledged $3.66 million so far.
You can still give in-pew; there are extra Faith Promise Cards in each pew. Fill out the card, place it in the envelope, and return in our offertory basket. Over the next couple of months, we will continue to follow-up with families from whom we have had no response. If you do not wish a follow-up, let us know your intentions, yes or no. We will not continue to contact those who are not interested in giving. Ask God’s direction and guidance on your participation. The Book of Remembrance will be part of our Dedication Service for the new church and an important legacy of our past and future.
Quote from a parishioner presentation made during our recent prayer focus weekends: “As a family, we are excited about the
new church because it is something that this generation of parishioners can do not only for ourselves but for the next generation that is now
growing up in or may join the Holy Name Community.” Parishioner - Susan Kempski
Weekend of September 15-16, 2007
Thanks to everyone who made a Faith Promise during the in-pew collection last weekend. We are making great progress and our goal is in reach. From the start, we knew that achieving the goal would take a sacrifice from every parish family. We are not there yet. There are still hundreds of families who we have not heard from. We need you now. Here’s your chance to be part of “Building our Tomorrow...A Legacy of Faith.”
Faith Promise cards will continue to be available in the back of the church and at the parish office. Please fill it out and mail or return it. We need you to make your commitment today so that we can begin building our new church.
Instead of a question this week, we will share a quote from one of the parishioner presentations made during our recent prayer focus weekends.
“I am very grateful for the many resources and spiritual benefits Holy Name of Jesus provides us with. Now I would like to ask you to join me in helping provide for Holy Name of Jesus.”
Parishioner - Johanna (Byers) Pena
Weekend of September 8-9, 2007
This weekend, everyone has an opportunity to participate in the Holy Name capital campaign. For many weeks, we have actively called on parishioners and asked for a Faith Promise commitment to support making improvements to existing buildings and building a new church. Thank you to everyone who received visitors, made Faith Promises, updated census information and volunteered for church ministries.
The enthusiastic response to the capital campaign so far has resulted in over one thousand families committing slightly over $3 million and more than 400 volunteers offering to help with parish ministries. If you have yet to do so, please join your fellow parishioners today by filling out the Faith Promise card in the pew and helping us reach our $5 million goal. Remember, it will take the participation of every parish family in order to reach the goal.
In the coming weeks, capital campaign funds will already be put to work to connect the two school buildings and make our school children more secure. In addition, funds will be used to pay off recent capital improvements to our existing buildings, including the replacement of our roof. Eliminating this debt will put the parish in a strong fiscal position for beginning the construction of the new church once we reach the goal.
You can learn more about the “Building our Tomorrow...A Legacy of Faith” at the parish web site.
This week’s question:
How much should I give?
After prayerful consideration, you should select an amount that your family can sacrifice given your financial resources and obligations. Recommendations are included with the Faith Promise card.
Weekend of September 1-2, 2007
Our capital campaign continues as we attempt to reach every parish family and gain the support needed to build a new church and make other improvements. Thank you to the hundreds of families who have made thus far their Faith Promise.
At the kickoff of the campaign, we introduced a Holy Name of Jesus prayer. The prayer inspires us to unite and form that we may serve God and one another. Through the “Building Our Tomorrow . . . A Legacy of Faith” campaign we have the opportunity to make a Faith Promise that serves God and one another. As a united parish, we can all be part of building a church for today’s families and the many more families that will follow.
Next weekend, members of our parish will again share their spiritual connection to the Holy Name community at each mass. In addition, parishioners who have not yet made a Faith Promise to the capital campaign will have the opportunity to do so. By participating, you can help us reach the $5 million goal and make our new church a reality.
This week’s question:
How long will the campaign last and when will my contributions begin?
The campaign will continue through September and perhaps beyond as we ensure that every parish family has the opportunity to participate. Contributions can begin immediately. There was an envelope in your recent packet of envelopes that can be used for your contributions. Your Faith Promise can continue for three years. We will begin construction when we have sufficient funds available.
