Throughout history, people have always had a natural inclination to present those in need with tokens of comfort. One way that this is being carried out today is by a local prayer shawl ministry known as Wings of Yarn. This group was formed about one year ago and has grown not only in members but in recognition. The members of this group come from various denominations, but many of them are Holy Name parishioners.

The purpose of this ministry is to crochet or knit shawls and/or blankets for those who need comfort, are grieving, are ill, are expecting a baby, or are celebrating matrimony. The members of this group meet once a month to pray and fellowship while working on their projects. Over 30 prayer shawls/blankets have been distributed this past year, and we are always open to continuing our mission by taking requests for those who would benefit from one of our items.
